In a step towards expanding its digital ecosystem, Samsung has launched its Samsung Browser for Windows, extending its browsing experience from mobile devices to PCs.
Previously available only on Samsung smartphones, the browser is now accessible on computers running Windows 11 and Windows 10 (version 1809 and above). The company said the new browser focuses on seamless cross-device continuity and AI-powered functionality.
The Samsung Browser for Windows allows users to continue their browsing sessions across devices. This means users can pick up exactly where they left off on their smartphones, including access to open webpages, bookmarks, and browsing history.
The browser also integrates with Samsung Pass, enabling users to securely store credentials and autofill login details and personal information across PCs.
A key feature of the browser is its agentic AI capability, developed in partnership with Perplexity. The built-in AI assistant can understand natural language queries and also interpret the context of the webpage being viewed. The Multi-tab Context Awareness feature allows users to compare content across multiple tabs at the same time and view combined insights from different sources in a single interface.
With these capabilities, users can summarise content, manage tabs, navigate browsing history, and retrieve information without leaving the browser.
The browser can also generate contextual outputs. For instance, users can ask it to create a travel itinerary based on a webpage. It can also search within videos to find specific moments and retrieve previously visited pages using natural language, removing the need for keywords or dates.
Currently, the AI-powered features are available in South Korea and the US, with plans to expand to more regions in the future.
