Apple upgrades App Store Connect with 100+ new performance metrics

In a move aimed at strengthening developer insights, Apple has introduced a major update to its App Store Connect platform, enhancing how apps are managed and analysed across its ecosystem.

The latest revamp brings over 100 new metrics, focusing on areas such as monetization and subscription data. The update is designed to help developers better understand in-app purchase performance and measure how effective their offers are.

One key highlight is that these new metrics are based on Apple’s own data, not estimates. This gives App Store Connect an edge over third-party platforms like data.ai and Sensor Tower. Developers will now have access to more accurate and reliable insights.

Apple has also added new subscription reports that can be exported via an API. This allows developers to analyse performance offline or integrate Apple’s data directly into their own systems.

The update introduces advanced tools for deeper user behaviour analysis. Developers can now track details such as download date, source, and offer start date. This helps them understand how specific user groups interact with apps over time.

Additionally, new peer group benchmarks have been introduced. These allow developers to compare their performance with competitors on metrics like download-to-paid conversions and proceeds per download.

On privacy, Apple stated that it uses aggregated cohort data to ensure user protection. The company also applies differential privacy techniques to safeguard individual developer performance.

To further improve analysis, developers can now apply up to 7 filters at the same time within App Store Connect. This enables more detailed and customised insights into app performance.

Alongside the update, Apple has released a new App Store Analytics Guide in the platform’s Help section. The guide aims to support developers in building data-driven strategies and understanding the available tools more effectively.

This update reinforces Apple’s focus on giving developers better resources for tracking, analysing and improving app performance.
