OnePlus has introduced a new high-performance cooling accessory designed to enhance smartphone gaming and heavy usage experiences.
OnePlus has launched the 40W Super Ice Magnetic Cooler, priced at 229 yuan (approx $33). The device brings notable upgrades in cooling efficiency, power, and design compared to its previous models.
Advanced cooling performance
The cooler is built around a 1600mm² custom TEC cooling plate, enabling rapid temperature reduction. It can bring temperatures down to 0°C in 18 seconds and to −1.41°C in 20 seconds under controlled conditions. The TEC surface can reach a minimum temperature of −22°C.
With a maximum power output of 40W, the device significantly improves upon the earlier 27W cooling capacity.
Power and compatibility
To achieve peak performance, the cooler requires a PD 45W or higher fast charger. OnePlus recommends using its 100W GaN SuperVOOC charger for optimal results. The device also supports ColorOS X Mode, enabling automatic Bluetooth pairing and performance optimisation on compatible OnePlus smartphones.
Design and usability
The cooler features a dual airflow channel that directs heat away from the user’s hands, improving comfort during extended use. It includes an axial fan, fin-based heat dissipation, and layered materials such as copper foil and thermal silicone pads to enhance heat transfer.
It offers 4 cooling modes—high, medium, low, and auto—allowing users to adjust performance based on usage.
Compact build with magnetic attachment
Weighing 103g and measuring 68.5 x 59 x 29 mm, the device is compact and portable. It attaches magnetically to both Android devices and iPhones, delivering up to 10N of magnetic force for a secure fit.
The cooler operates at 39dB in performance mode and 28dB in low-power mode. It also features RGB lighting with blue and purple effects and is built using PC and aluminium alloy in a Deep Space Silver finish.
Alongside this launch, OnePlus has also introduced an ultra-thin magnetic cooler, which it claims is the world’s thinnest of its kind.
