Snapchat introduces AI Clips to turn photos into short videos

Expanding its creative tools, Snapchat has launched AI Clips, a new feature that converts photos into 5-second videos using artificial intelligence.

The feature works through Snapchat Lenses. With a single tap, users can transform a photo into a short video, such as a clip showing them walking down a red carpet. The goal is to make content creation simple and accessible without requiring additional tools.

AI Clips is also designed to support creators. Users can quickly publish their content, and those enrolled in the Lens+ Payouts programme can earn revenue when their AI Clips are made available through Lens+. The subscription service is priced at $8.99 per month and provides access to exclusive Lenses and augmented reality experiences.

Snapchat continues to expand its AI-driven features as user engagement grows. The platform recorded nearly 2 trillion Snaps last year, highlighting strong activity and increasing interest in creative content tools.

With AI Clips, the company is focusing on making content creation faster, more interactive, and accessible to a wider audience, while also opening new monetisation opportunities for creators.
