In a step towards AI-driven transactions, Razorpay has joined hands with Sarvam, a full-stack sovereign AI platform, to introduce voice-first conversational commerce.
The partnership will allow users to discover products, place orders, and complete payments using natural language interactions. It combines Sarvam’s AI models and agentic stack with Razorpay’s payment infrastructure to support multilingual, voice-based transactions across Indian languages.
As part of the initial rollout, Swiggy will be integrated into Sarvam’s chat platform, Indus App. This will enable users to order food by interacting with a voice-enabled AI assistant.
The collaboration will be implemented across 3 layers. First, it will enable conversational commerce within the Indus App, starting with Swiggy. Second, businesses will be able to integrate voice-based commerce into their own apps and websites. In an early pilot, a conversational voice assistant has already been deployed on The Derma Co’s website, allowing users to explore products and complete purchases through voice interactions.
Finally, Sarvam’s AI technology will be integrated into Razorpay’s Agent Studio. This will allow businesses and developers to build multilingual AI agents that can interact with users and execute transactions seamlessly.
The partnership aims to create AI-native commerce experiences where conversations replace traditional app-based interfaces for everyday transactions.
