Niv-AI secures $12 million to build AI-driven power management for data centers

In a bid to tackle rising energy challenges in data centers, Niv-AI has raised $12 million in seed funding to develop smarter power management solutions.

The startup, founded by Tomer Timor and Edward Kizis, secured funding from investors including Glilot Capital, Grove Ventures, Arc VC, Encoded VC, Leap Forward and Aurora Capital Partners.

The company aims to reduce energy waste in data centers by using advanced sensors to monitor GPU power usage in real time. This helps ensure performance is not affected when electricity demand increases.

Niv-AI has already started deploying rack-level sensors and expects to have a working system in a few US data centers within 6–8 months.

The system will collect detailed power data and use AI models to predict and balance power loads, improving efficiency and stability.

The development comes at a time when energy demand in AI infrastructure is rapidly increasing. NVIDIA CEO has recently warned that rising electricity requirements could impact GPU performance.

Niv-AI’s solution aims to address this issue by optimising power usage while maintaining performance and reducing waste.

The approach could play a key role in helping data centers manage growing workloads more efficiently as AI adoption continues to expand.
