In a move that highlights the growing role of global capability centres, TransUnion is advancing its unified data platform, OneTru, with significant contributions from its India operations. The platform is designed to bring together data, identity and analytics into a single system that supports its global products across credit, fraud, marketing and analytics.
At its core, OneTru uses a layered architecture that connects multiple data sources, resolves identities across systems, and applies analytics models to generate insights in near real time. Traditionally, customer data such as credit history, fraud signals, and behavioural patterns has been spread across different systems built over years. By creating a shared data foundation, the platform removes these silos and allows products to operate more efficiently.
“Nearly 70 per cent of the team building the platform, including leadership, is based out of the GCC,” Debasis Panda, Senior Vice President and Head, TransUnion GCC India, Costa Rica and South Africa. “Every TransUnion product globally will sit on and leverage this platform.” This unified approach improves fraud detection by enabling access to broader datasets, speeds up credit decisioning and helps marketing teams build consistent customer views without combining multiple systems.
The platform also supports the company’s next phase of AI-driven growth, where machine learning models rely on unified data for better performance and governance. Its development reflects a larger shift within TransUnion’s India centre, which has evolved from a technology hub into a full-stack capability centre covering data platforms, analytics, automation and security. The updated platform is now central to this transformation and future innovation.
