Zoho introduces 2-week work-from-home plan amid fuel supply disruptions

Amid concerns around fuel availability and commuting challenges, Zoho Corporation has advised most of its employees to work remotely for a temporary period. The company announced that the arrangement will begin on 16 March and continue for 2 weeks.

The decision was communicated internally, stating that employees who are not part of business-critical functions have been encouraged to work from home during this time. The move is intended to reduce daily travel and help employees manage transportation issues linked to the current operational situation.

According to the internal message, the company also sees the step as part of its broader responsibility to support employees during the ongoing fuel-supply disruptions. By limiting commuting requirements, Zoho aims to ease pressure on staff who may face difficulties due to the evolving situation.

Employees working in essential or critical operational teams have been asked to coordinate with their respective managers regarding their work-from-office schedules. For those required to be present at office locations, workplace facilities will remain operational, though services will be limited.

The company noted that office cafeterias, for example, will operate with a restricted menu during the 2-week period.

The development comes as several parts of the country are experiencing concerns related to fuel availability. The disruption in supply has been linked to the ongoing war-related global energy situation, which has affected the availability of LPG and other fuels in multiple regions.

These conditions have raised concerns about commuting and logistics for many employees.

Zoho said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and will share further updates with its workforce as circumstances evolve. The temporary remote-work policy highlights how companies are adjusting workplace arrangements to respond quickly to external disruptions that affect employees’ daily routines.
