WhatsApp brings sticker suggestions while typing emojis in chats on iOS

WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature for iPhone users that makes sending stickers faster and easier during conversations. The latest update allows users to discover relevant stickers directly while typing emojis in chats, removing the need to manually browse sticker packs.

The new feature arrives with the latest update of the iOS app, which carries version number 26.8.76. With this update, the instant messaging platform now shows sticker suggestions whenever a user types an emoji in the chat bar. This means users can quickly select a suitable sticker related to the emoji they enter, helping speed up conversations.

Instead of opening the sticker keyboard and scrolling through multiple sticker packs, users can simply type an emoji and instantly see matching sticker suggestions. They can browse the suggested stickers and send one by tapping on the emoji in the message field.

The update log also notes that the feature may take a few days to reach all users. It was initially spotted by a feature tracker in the WhatsApp for iOS 26.8.75 version, before the company officially mentioned it in the changelog for the 26.8.76 update. A technology publication also verified that the feature was already enabled after installing the latest version.

Users will also see an option called “Show more results”, which allows them to explore additional stickers, including those from third-party sticker packs. For example, typing a laughing emoji can show stickers with funny reactions, while heart emojis may display stickers expressing love and affection.

In addition to this update, WhatsApp has recently introduced several other new features. Last week, the platform rolled out a Group Message History feature. This allows new participants in a group to view messages that were sent in the chat before they joined.

The company is also reportedly working on adding SIM binding support for users with Indian phone numbers. Alongside this, WhatsApp is said to be preparing an optional premium subscription plan. The proposed tier, called “WhatsApp Plus”, could offer extra customisation and convenience features for paid users and is currently believed to be in development for both Android and iOS versions.
