In this expanded role, Mr. Hurd will oversee IT operations across North America while continuing to lead the company’s global observability function. His responsibilities include shaping Sodexo’s long-term observability strategy, standardizing tools and platforms, and embedding Site Reliability Engineering practices across the enterprise.
He will also manage centralized observability platforms such as Datadog. In addition, he will focus on implementing service reliability metrics including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, while advancing AI and machine learning-powered AIOps initiatives to strengthen anomaly detection, predictive alerts, and root cause analysis.
Hurd has been associated with Sodexo for more than 11 years and has progressed through several senior technology leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Head of the Global Observability Center of Excellence. In that role, he led the architecture and global deployment of scalable observability frameworks and centralized monitoring platforms.
Earlier, as Director of IT Operations, he improved IT service management processes and reduced operational costs by 45% through strategic managed service provider transitions. He also strengthened major incident response capabilities and supported large-scale infrastructure migrations to Microsoft Azure.
Before joining Sodexo, Hurd held multiple IT leadership roles at Integer Holdings Corporation, where he managed IT operations, vendor partnerships, and infrastructure modernization programs.
His career also includes technology roles at Citi, Fidelity Investments, and Green Mountain Power. Through these positions, he built expertise in infrastructure management, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and enterprise IT governance.
With more than 20 years of experience across IT operations, cloud migration, observability systems, and service delivery, Hurd’s appointment highlights Sodexo’s continued focus on digital transformation, operational resilience, and global technology standardization.
