CERT-In warns of critical vulnerabilities in Trend Micro Apex One

In a fresh cybersecurity alert, CERT-In has identified serious security flaws in Trend Micro Apex One and related products. The advisory, issued on February 27, cautions IT teams about the risk of remote system compromise if patches are not applied.

Apex One is widely used by enterprises to block malware and manage threats across Windows and macOS devices. According to the advisory, the newly discovered vulnerabilities could allow attackers to execute remote code through the Management Console. This could potentially give hackers direct access to company networks.

Some of the reported vulnerabilities have been assigned a severity score of 9.8 out of 10, raising serious concerns for organizations relying on the software.

Trend Micro has released a critical patch, Build 14136, for on-premises users. Cloud-based versions of the product have already received automatic updates.

CERT-In has urged system administrators to apply the updates immediately. Trend Micro Apex One has also recommended restricting access to the Management Console to reduce potential risks.

This is not the first time Apex One has faced security concerns, highlighting the importance of timely updates and strict access controls to protect enterprise data.
