In a major step toward ethical technology development, Vertex Group has announced the launch of a Responsible AI Lab in Gurgaon, with an investment of ₹100 crore over 3 years.
The initiative aims to build AI systems that are fair, transparent, and privacy-focused from the very beginning. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand globally and achieve its vision of becoming a ₹1,000-crore digital enterprise.
The new lab will enhance Vertex’s VAssist platform, designed to power smarter automated contact centers. It will also focus on research in ethical AI design, context-aware decision-making, and large language models tailored for regulated industries.
In addition, the lab will develop features such as audit trails and privacy-first data frameworks to ensure compliance with global regulations and standards.
Beyond product development, the initiative will focus on skill development. Vertex plans to upskill 8,000+ AI professionals in India by 2028. The programme will train engineers, data scientists, and AI ethicists to help sectors like fintech and healthtech adopt AI responsibly.
Founder Gagan Arora said the goal is to ensure that technology benefits both people and businesses.
He said, “AI is most powerful when it becomes a partner in progress, not a substitute for human ingenuity.”
Through this investment, Vertex Group is positioning itself as a responsible AI leader while strengthening its long-term digital growth strategy.
