Finding authorised Aadhaar service locations is set to become easier as a new digital collaboration takes shape. A partnership between Unique Identification Authority of India and Google aims to improve public access, accuracy and transparency for Aadhaar-related services across the country.
As part of the initiative, verified Aadhaar enrolment and update centres will be displayed on Google Maps. Users will be able to view key details such as services offered, operating hours and accessibility features, helping Aadhaar holders identify genuine centres without confusion.
Nationwide coverage planned
The partnership will bring more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres onto the platform, including dedicated Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Officials said the move will help users avoid misinformation and ensure they visit only authorised service points.
Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO of UIDAI, said the collaboration is part of a wider effort to simplify services for Aadhaar holders and improve transparency in delivery.
Digital features to expand further
In the next phase, UIDAI plans to use Google Business Profile tools to manage centre information and respond to public feedback. This is expected to create a more interactive and accountable system for both authorities and users.
The partners are also exploring the option of enabling appointment bookings directly through Google Maps. If implemented, this could streamline visits, reduce waiting times and improve overall service efficiency.
Boost to accessibility and transparency
The initiative aligns with the broader push by government agencies to use digital platforms for citizen services. By combining Google Maps official databases with widely used consumer technology, the move supports location-based and real-time access to public services.
Officials believe the change could significantly reduce the effort required to find Aadhaar services, especially in smaller towns and rural areas where identifying authorised centres has often been difficult.
