TCS and GitLab join hands to scale AI-driven DevSecOps for enterprises

A strategic collaboration is taking shape as enterprises look to accelerate software innovation while maintaining strong security and governance.

Tata Consultancy Services has partnered with GitLab to use intelligent orchestration and agentic AI automation to help enterprises boost innovation velocity at scale. The partnership brings together TCS’ AI-led enterprise transformation capabilities with GitLab’s pre-built AI agents and intelligent orchestration for software development.

Through this collaboration, customers will be able to accelerate software delivery, strengthen security, and orchestrate AI agents across the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). The focus is on enabling development within enterprise-specific context, standards, and governance guardrails.

Alex Picker, VP of Global Ecosystems, GitLab, said, “TCS brings extensive industry experience and global scale that enterprises need to maximize the value of GitLab Duo Agent Platform at scale. Together, we’re enahling joint customers to transform how they build and deliver software, orchestrating Al agents across the entire software development lifecycle with the governance, security, and support that enterprises require.”

Ashok Krish, Head – AI Practice, TCS, said, “Transformation in the Al era requires not just modern tools, but a fundamental reimagining of how software is built, secured, and delivered. Our strategic partnership with GitLab is aimed at making Al real for enterprises. It enables us to bring Al-Native DevSecOps capabilities to our clients. This is particularly cracial as enterprises navigate the imperative of Al-led rapid software development while maintaining reliability, security and compliance.”

At the core of the partnership is support for implementing GitLab Duo Agent Platform. The platform enables agentic AI automation across the software lifecycle, including agentic chat, foundational agents built by GitLab experts, custom agents for complex development tasks, and external agent integration with tools such as Claude Code from Anthropic and Codex CLI from OpenAI. Governance and security controls are also built into the platform. TCS will create industry-specific AI workflow templates and pre-built agents to help customers accelerate time-to-value.

The partnership will also focus on modernising legacy development practices and using GitLab’s unified platform to create automated workflows from planning to production. TCS will help enterprises consolidate fragmented toolchains, improving visibility, security, and compliance across the SDLC. The joint approach will support large-scale migrations in complex, multi-team environments.

The collaboration is expected to benefit enterprises across sectors including telecommunications, media, financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector. TCS will also deliver end-to-end DevSecOps transformation services, supported by its Centres of Excellence, to address enterprise challenges in AI-enabled software delivery.
