A new push in India’s Voice AI space is taking shape with the launch of a full-stack platform that combines artificial intelligence with telecom infrastructure under one roof.
Fonada Labs has announced what it calls India’s first full-stack Voice AI and telecom platform, bringing together its proprietary Core AI, a no-code bot builder, and virtual network technology. The launch was confirmed in a press release issued from New Delhi on February 25, with the platform already live across 14 cities.
The company said the platform is built to handle complex, real-world voice interactions at scale. Its AI system can understand speech in 22 languages and respond in 15 languages. It is also designed to recognise Indian accents, cancel background noise, and detect natural pauses to know when a speaker has finished talking.
On the infrastructure side, the platform can manage over 5,000 concurrent calls. It supports multiple communication channels, including standard phone networks, WhatsApp, RCS, and web-based interfaces, allowing businesses to deploy voice automation across different customer touchpoints from a single system.
A key focus of the platform is data localisation and performance. Unlike several global competitors that depend on external cloud providers, Fonada hosts its AI models within Indian data centres. The company also operates telecom interconnects across the country and places its model hosting close to these interconnect points.
This setup ensures that data remains within India while also reducing latency. As a result, calls connect faster and operate with fewer technical delays, offering a smoother experience for both businesses and end users.
With this launch, Fonada Labs aims to position itself as a home-grown alternative in the Voice AI market, combining language capability, scale, and local infrastructure to meet India-specific needs.
