Honor to unveil first AI-powered humanoid robot ahead of MWC 2026

As global tech attention shifts to Barcelona, one smartphone brand is preparing to move beyond handheld devices. Honor has confirmed it will debut its first humanoid robot on March 1, a day before Mobile World Congress 2026 begins.

The announcement marks Honor’s entry into full-size humanoid robotics, making it the first major smartphone brand to explore this category. The company aims to enable smoother human-machine collaboration under its ALPHA PLAN. The robot is designed for real-world use cases such as shopping and everyday assistance, and will work alongside a dedicated Robot Phone that functions as its brain and controller.

The humanoid robot features a glass-covered hollow face and a visor positioned on its forehead. This visor is expected to house a camera that can help the robot avoid obstacles and respond to questions based on what it sees. The robot comes with a full set of limbs, allowing it to move freely and interact with people and objects around it.

The design suggests the use of advanced technologies such as mapping for navigation, vision-language AI to understand surroundings, and whole-body balance control for stable movement. The robot carries the “Alpha” branding, which is also seen on the Robot Phone, highlighting a shared ecosystem approach.

Alongside the humanoid robot, Honor will showcase a range of new devices at MWC 2026. The lineup includes the Magic V6 foldable smartphone, which is expected to feature a slimmer design and a larger battery. The Robot Phone, which pairs with the humanoid robot, will include a retractable gimbal camera capable of tracking subjects.

Honor will also present the MagicPad 4 tablet and the MagicBook Pro 14 laptop as part of its broader product showcase. Attendees at the event can view live demonstrations of these devices at the company’s booth in Hall 3.

With this move, Honor is signalling a broader push into AI-driven ecosystems that extend beyond traditional smartphones. More details about the humanoid robot and its capabilities are expected to be revealed during the event.
