With its global product launch approaching, Xiaomi has confirmed that its next tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 8, will be introduced in India later this week. The company had earlier teased a new computing device, which is now confirmed to be the Xiaomi Pad 8, launching across global markets including India.
According to a dedicated landing page on the company’s website, the Xiaomi Pad 8 will debut on February 28 alongside the upcoming Xiaomi 17 series. The launch event will begin at 2 pm in Barcelona, which is 6:30 pm IST in India. Xiaomi has described the Pad 8 as its slimmest tablet to date.
The microsite reveals several key specifications. The Xiaomi Pad 8 will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and is expected to run Android 16 with the company’s HyperOS 3 interface. It will be backed by a 9,200mAh battery.
Xiaomi has also confirmed support for multiple accessories. The tablet will work with the Xiaomi Focus Keyboard, which features adaptive backlit keys and a gesture-enabled touchpad. It will also support the Focus Pen Pro, the company’s buttonless stylus that includes gesture support.
More details are expected to be shared ahead of the launch. However, specifications from the Chinese version provide an indication of what the global variant may offer. In China, the Xiaomi Pad 8 was launched with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It features an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
The tablet is equipped with a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 32-megapixel front camera. If the global model mirrors the Chinese variant further, it could support 67W fast charging and feature a slim 5.75mm body.
With a flagship-grade processor, productivity-focused accessories, and a slim profile, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is positioned as a premium tablet offering for global and Indian markets.
