Motorola is targeting buyers in price conscious markets like India who value long battery life above premium cameras or powerful processors. With the Motorola Moto G86 Power, the brand focuses on users such as daily commuters and elderly customers who need a phone that lasts an entire day on a single charge. Priced at Rs 17999, the device puts endurance first with its massive 6720mAh battery, even if that means making compromises in other areas.
The Moto G86 Power stands out with its Pantone inspired colours. The review unit came in Pantone Golden Cypress, a bright green shade. Other options include Pantone Spellbound, Pantone Cosmic Sky and Pantone Chrysanthemum. The vegan leather back adds texture and grip, though a simple plastic case is included in the box. Despite housing a huge battery, the phone does not feel overly bulky. Curved edges make it comfortable to hold. It may not look premium, but IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance along with MIL STD 810H compliance show that it is durable.
On the front, the phone features a 6.67 inch Full HD+ pOLED display with support for 1B colours, up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification and 4500 nits peak brightness. Colours appear vibrant and the screen remains readable under harsh sunlight. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and Motorola’s Hello UI based on Android 15. It handles casual games smoothly but struggles with graphics heavy titles. Motorola promises only 1 OS upgrade and 3 years of security updates, which may disappoint some users.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 32MP selfie camera. Image quality is decent for the segment, though colours can look oversaturated and digital zoom is limited to 10x. The real highlight remains the 6720mAh battery. Even with moderate to heavy use, it comfortably lasts through demanding days without running out of charge, making the Moto G86 Power a strong choice for users who value endurance above all else.
