Airbnb rolls out AI upgrades to simplify trip search, booking, and planning

In a move aimed at reshaping how people plan and book travel, Airbnb is introducing a new set of AI-driven features designed to make searching, booking, and trip planning faster and easier.

The company’s CEO, Brian Chesky, said the upgrades are powered by large language models and focus on improving search accuracy and overall trip planning. He has also noted that traffic coming from chatbot platforms converts at a higher rate than traffic from Google. Alongside guest-facing updates, Airbnb said the changes will also strengthen host tools and customer support systems.

AI bot to add voice support

Launched in 2025, Airbnb’s AI bot currently resolves around 33% of North American customer support issues on its own. The company now plans to introduce voice-based assistance. Once live, the AI assistant will be available in English, Spanish, and French across the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Hosts are also set to benefit from new features. Airbnb will roll out dynamic pricing forecasts that extend up to 1 year in advance, along with additional tools to help hosts better manage their calendars. The company said it plans to use its large base of identity and review data to further improve the app experience for both guests and hosts.

Financial performance and roadmap

Airbnb reported revenue of $2.78 billion in Q4 2025, marking a 12% increase compared to Q4 2024. The company’s AI push is being led by CTO Ahmad Al-Dahle, who previously worked on Meta Llama. Airbnb said more engineers are now adopting AI tools, with a target of 100% adoption across teams.

Looking ahead, the company also confirmed that it will eventually test sponsored listings as part of its broader platform evolution.
