This move marks a key internal promotion within the organisation. Katie steps into the role after serving as Senior People Engagement Manager at NCFE. In that position, she led the People Engagement teams across Talent Acquisition, People Engagement & Reward, and the Flexible Workforce. She worked closely with senior leaders to deliver engagement initiatives aligned with NCFE’s strategic goals. Her role also focused on compliance and supporting the execution of the People function’s business plan.
Earlier, she held the position of Senior Product Manager – People Services, where she contributed to the development and optimisation of internal people systems and services. She also worked as a Talent Acquisition Partner and Talent Resourcer, helping to strengthen hiring strategies and enhance workforce capability across the organisation.
Before joining NCFE, Katie gained extensive recruitment and advisory experience at Westray Recruitment Consultants. There, she managed the Commercial Division and delivered consultative, relationship-led recruitment services across professional and support functions.
Katie’s earlier career includes roles at Emmanuel College, Gateshead, Mammoet, Post Office Ltd, and Nigel Wright Consultancy. These experiences helped her build a strong foundation in HR operations, talent sourcing, and organisational support.
In her new role as Head of People Operations, Katie will oversee the operational delivery of NCFE’s people strategy. Her focus will include employee engagement, talent capability, reward, workforce planning, and ensuring operational excellence across the People function. She will support the organisation as it continues its mission to shape smarter learning and empower a fairer society.
