Siddhartha Mundra takes on an expanded role as CFO – Designate at Tata Communications

Mr. Mundra will formally take over as Chief Financial Officer on May 1, 2026, marking an important leadership transition for the global digital ecosystem enabler. Siddhartha joins the executive leadership team after serving as Vice President at TATA SONS LIMITED. He was part of the Group CFO and Group Strategy Office, where he helped shape the financial and strategic direction of the broader Tata Group. His role focused on enterprise-wide financial stewardship and long-term growth planning.

Before Tata Sons, Siddhartha was Chief Executive Officer at Shankara Building Products Limited. He led the listed retailer and distributor of building materials through significant growth phases. His association with the company spanned over a decade, first as an investor through Fairwinds Private Equity and later as a member of the leadership team. This experience gave him strong exposure to both investment strategy and operational execution.

Earlier, Siddhartha spent nearly 9 years as Director at Fairwinds Private Equity. Siddartha was part of the founding team of the firm, formerly known as Reliance Private Equity before a management buyout. He also served as Associate Vice President at ICICI Venture, where he strengthened his expertise in investments, capital allocation, and value creation strategies.

He began his career as a Software Engineer at Cisco Systems. This early technical foundation supported his later transition into finance and strategy roles.

Siddhartha holds a Post-Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He also earned a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Warangal, where he was a Gold Medalist.

With experience across private equity, corporate strategy, and operational leadership, Siddhartha is set to steer Tata Communications into its next phase of global digital expansion and financial transformation.
