Vimalkumar Dayavathi takes on an expanded role as Chief General Manager at Greenko Group

In a strategic leadership move, Greenko Group has appointed Vimalkumar Dayavathi as Chief General Manager, reinforcing its focus on people-led transformation as the company accelerates growth in renewable energy and green molecule sectors.

In his expanded role, Dayavathi will continue to lead large-scale HR transformation and strategic workforce initiatives aligned with Greenko’s rapid business expansion.

Prior to this elevation, Dayavathi served as Senior General Manager at Greenko Group. During this tenure, he drove enterprise-wide HR transformation across corporate and business units. He led HR integration following 5 major acquisitions in India’s renewable and allied sectors. He also spearheaded the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors and Darwinbox, enabling full digital HR adoption across the organization. In addition, he developed group-wide HR analytics dashboards that became integral to leadership and board-level reviews.

Earlier, as General Manager and Deputy General Manager at Greenko, Dayavathi strengthened HR governance frameworks and supported large acquisition transitions. He also introduced the company’s first paperless performance management system, laying the foundation for digital HR operations.

Before joining Greenko, he worked as Manager – HR Operations at SunEdison. There, he managed HR operations and compensation & benefits across APAC and Sub-Saharan regions. He led the implementation of Oracle Fusion and Taleo systems across multiple geographies and maintained zero non-compliance across consecutive statutory and SOX audits.

His earlier career spans technology and operations leadership roles at Mphasis, Intelligroup Inc., iSOFT R&D (India) Pvt Ltd, and HCL Technologies. These roles helped him build strong expertise in HR automation and operational excellence.

Dayavathi holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management in Human Resources from NMIMS Centre for Distance and Online Education.
