Apple rolls out iOS 26.3 with Android migration support and Apple Music upgrades

In its latest software push, Apple has released the iOS 26.3 update for iPhone, marking the 3rd major update to the operating system first introduced in September.

The update was tested through developer and public beta versions over recent weeks before its stable rollout. iOS 26.3 brings several new features, including an improved method for switching from Android to iPhone.

According to Apple’s release notes, the new migration feature allows users to move data from an Android device without downloading apps from Apple or Google. The transfer process supports apps, messages, notes, passwords, phone numbers, photos and more.

However, a report by a publication claims that the migration process may not be as simple as it appears, which could explain why Apple has not widely promoted the feature.

The iOS 26.3 update also introduces changes to the Apple Music app. The Favourite Songs playlist is now displayed in the Top Picks section on the home page. Users can also download offline lyrics for songs and access them without an internet connection.

Alongside new features, the update includes fixes for several bugs reported in earlier versions of the operating system.

How to install iOS 26.3 on iPhone

Apple says iPhone models enrolled in the beta programme and running the iOS 26.3 beta are eligible for the stable release. A publication confirmed that the iOS 26.0.1 update is currently available on iPhone. The update has been released for iPhone 11 and later models.

To install the update:

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

  • Go to General > Software Update.

  • The device will automatically check for available updates.

  • Tap Download & Install, then read and accept the terms and conditions.

  • Wait for the update to complete. The iPhone may restart multiple times during installation.
