Apple pushes back AI powered Siri upgrade as rollout faces further delays

Apple’s long awaited upgrade to Siri is facing another delay, extending the wait for its advanced AI features. The company first introduced plans for a smarter Siri when it unveiled Apple Intelligence in 2024. Since then, the launch timeline has shifted several times over the past 1.5 years and the latest report suggests users may need to wait even longer.

The enhanced Siri experience was initially expected to arrive with the iOS 26.4 update in March. However, according to a new report by a journalist from a media publication, Apple now plans to release the features in phases. Some updates could be delayed until the May iOS update, while others may not appear until iOS 27 launches in September. The delay reportedly follows issues discovered during internal software testing, forcing Apple to adjust its rollout schedule once again.

The upcoming changes are expected to transform Siri into a more advanced AI assistant, similar to the large language model chatbots that have gained popularity across the tech industry. Instead of opening a separate app such as ChatGPT or Claude on an iPhone or MacBook, users would be able to interact directly with Siri through voice. The upgraded assistant is expected to be powered by Google Gemini, bringing more natural and intelligent responses to Apple devices.

With repeated postponements, anticipation around the AI powered Siri revamp continues to build. Apple has positioned this upgrade as a key part of its broader Apple Intelligence strategy, but users may have to remain patient as development continues. For now, the timeline for the full rollout remains uncertain as Apple works to refine the experience.
