In a major boost to its international business, Tata Motors’ wholly owned indirect subsidiary, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia, has secured an agreement to supply 70,000 commercial vehicles in Indonesia. This marks the company’s largest single order in the country.
Under the agreement, Tata Motors will supply 35,000 units of the Yodha pick-up and 35,000 units of the Ultra T.7 truck. These vehicles will be delivered to Indonesian state-owned enterprise PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. The fleet will support agricultural operations and rural logistics, including farm-to-market transportation and movement of goods across regions.
The deployment forms part of Indonesia’s Koperasi Desa and Kelurahan Merah Putih initiatives. These programmes aim to modernise agricultural supply chains, strengthen rural cooperatives, and enhance food security across the country.
Tata Motors said the rollout will follow a structured and phased delivery plan to ensure smooth integration and long-term operational efficiency. Asif Shamim, Director, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia, stated that the order highlights the growing global acceptance of Indian commercial vehicles and confidence in their performance across diverse operating conditions.
The company added that the Yodha and Ultra T.7 are designed for demanding environments. They are expected to help reduce logistics costs while improving connectivity in rural and agricultural regions.
Tata Motors currently offers a wide range of commercial vehicles in more than 40 countries. Its portfolio spans sub-1-tonne to 60-tonne cargo vehicles, along with mass mobility solutions. The latest order further strengthens the company’s global footprint as it continues to expand in key export markets.
