Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 update is set to bring expanded customization through Good Lock modules. However, one of the anticipated Quick Panel features has been postponed.
Last month, Samsung announced plans to enhance Quick Panel customization using the QuickStar module under Good Lock. The update is expected to let users edit the Quick Panel in landscape mode, change the orientation of select quick setting toggles, and even set an image as the background for those toggles.
But the feature that allows users to modify the quick settings button grid orientation has been delayed. It was initially expected to roll out to One UI 8.5 beta users. That release has not taken place.
A Good Lock moderator on the Samsung Community forum in South Korea confirmed that the ability to edit the quick settings button grid using QuickStar will only become available after the stable One UI 8.5 update is officially released for supported Galaxy devices.
Once introduced, this feature will allow users to adjust both the size and orientation of the quick settings button grid. These customization options are not available by default and require the Good Lock and QuickStar apps on devices running One UI 8.5 or earlier versions.
Samsung continues to expand personalization tools within One UI, but users waiting for deeper Quick Panel control will need to wait until the stable rollout.
