In a strategic move to strengthen reliability and performance, Khazna Data Centers has unveiled Khazna NexOps, a fully insourced operations organization built to support mission-critical and AI-driven infrastructure at scale.
With this launch, Khazna has moved away from a vendor-led model to an in-house structure across more than 30 data centers. In under 12 months, the NexOps team has grown from 20 to over 230 specialists. The organization now operates under a unified framework covering people, processes, technology, and governance, while ensuring uninterrupted services for customers running critical workloads.
“In a world where minutes of downtime are unacceptable, operations can’t be an afterthought,” said Bart Holsters, Managing Director, Khazna NexOps. “Khazna NexOps is a deliberate investment in accountability, capability, and customer experience. By bringing operations in-house, we can deliver more consistent execution, faster decision-making, and a service model built around the requirements of the most demanding hyperscale environments.”
Khazna NexOps aims to standardize performance across its expanding portfolio. A structured capability model defines operational layers across staffing, processes, KPIs, and governance. The rollout is being phased with digitalization planned through 2026.
The company has created over 5,000 operational documents to enable repeatable and audit-ready practices. It has also introduced competency-linked execution, where training, certification, and skill assessments are directly tied to work order allocation, ensuring only qualified personnel handle critical tasks.
“We view this as a new operating system for reliability,” Holsters added. “Working with global process, learning, and technology leaders, we’ve built the foundations so our teams can execute consistently across every site. That consistency is what customers ultimately feel: predictable performance, faster response, and tighter control of risk, so our clients are AI-ready in every sense of the term.”
Khazna has integrated advanced automation into daily operations. In partnership with Presight, it is deploying an AI-powered command and control platform from a secure AI hub in Abu Dhabi. The system monitors energy, cooling, equipment performance, and security, predicting issues and optimizing operations 24/7.
Working with AlphaGeo, the company has embedded climate intelligence into operations by integrating physical climate projections, infrastructure resilience, and socio-economic indicators to support long-term risk management.
Robotic patrol units have also been trialled to assist inspections and detect anomalies such as heat signatures, leaks, and vibration.
Since establishing NexOps, Khazna has reported measurable improvements. LTIFR and TRIR have reached 0, with over 2 million LTI-free hours recorded last year. PUE improved by 2.3% despite challenging climate conditions. Training completion and compliance have also strengthened through standardized practices.
Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO, Khazna Data Centers, said: “Khazna NexOps supports our broader mission to deliver resilient, efficient, and future-ready digital infrastructure as AI workloads accelerate and compute densities increase. By bringing operations in-house, we will strengthen end-to-end accountability, improve customer experience, and scale operational excellence for our rapidly expanding footprint.”
