An interstate cybercrime investigation has led to the arrest of 2 individuals from Khammam, highlighting growing coordination between state police forces to tackle digital fraud cases.
Tamil Nadu police have arrested a father and son from Khammam district for their alleged involvement in a cybercrime reported in the State. The accused have been identified as Tagaram Sreenu and his son Siddharth, residents of V. Venkatayapalem village in Raghunadhapalem mandal.
According to officials, the duo is suspected to have played a key role in a cybercrime registered in Tirunelveli district. Investigators found that an amount of Rs 15 lakh linked to the case was credited to a joint bank account held by the accused at a bank in Khammam.
Based on this information, a team from Tamil Nadu police, with support from the Raghunadhapalem police, carried out raids in the village. Both accused were taken into custody during the operation.
After their arrest, the father and son were produced before a magistrate in Khammam. They were later taken to Tamil Nadu for further investigation in connection with the case.
Police officials said further details of the cybercrime and the suspected role of the accused are still under investigation, and more information is expected in the coming days.
