One year on, a focused social initiative has translated commitment into measurable financial security for women with disabilities.
Adani Foundation marked the first anniversary of its Adani Mangal Seva programme, completing its pledge to support 500 divyang women with long-term financial stability. The milestone was commemorated at an event in Ahmedabad, reflecting on the programme’s progress since its launch on February 5, 2025.
Under the initiative, each of the 500 beneficiaries received a ₹10 lakh fixed deposit, created in partnership with a major Indian bank. The structure provides a steady monthly income, with access to the principal after 10 years, offering financial assurance and independence. The programme targets women aged 25 to 40 who hold Unique Disability ID cards, identified with support from project partner Youth for Jobs.
Adani Mangal Seva is designed to run for at least 5 years, with an annual allocation of ₹50 crore to support up to 500 women each year. The initiative stems from a personal commitment by members of the Adani family to channel a life event into sustained social impact.
At the anniversary gathering, leaders highlighted the programme’s emphasis on dignity and opportunity. The event reflected on how personal milestones can be transformed into community support, reinforcing the view that prosperity gains meaning when it creates lasting opportunity for others.
The celebrations also included cultural elements that echoed the initiative’s focus on inclusivity and empowerment. A book featuring transformation stories from beneficiaries was launched, while participants and their families joined an evening of reflection and shared commitment to the programme’s vision.
The 1-year milestone underscores how structured, long-term support can strengthen social security and empower women with disabilities. With continued backing and a clear roadmap, the programme aims to deepen and expand its impact in the years ahead.
