Fresh leaks suggest that the Redmi K90 lineup may soon get a new top-tier addition, potentially reshaping the flagship order within the series.
The Redmi K90 Pro Max, launched in China in October 2025 alongside the Redmi K90, is currently the most advanced model in the range. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, it sits at the top of the lineup for now. However, a new model, expected to be called the Redmi K90 Ultra, has been appearing in leaks for some time and may soon take that position.
According to a tipster on Weibo known as Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K90 Ultra is expected to launch with the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. The phone is also tipped to support 100W wired fast charging and feature a display with an “ultra-high” refresh rate. To manage heat during gaming and heavy tasks, the handset is said to include an active cooling fan.
The device is reportedly backed by an 8,500mAh or larger battery. This differs from earlier leaks that claimed the phone could feature a 10,000mAh battery. The Redmi K90 Ultra is also expected to deliver notable upgrades in the camera department compared to existing models.
Leaks further suggest the phone may come with an LTPS OLED display sized between 6.81 inches and 6.89 inches. Since Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch or specifications of the Redmi K90 Ultra, all details should be treated with caution.
For context, the Redmi K90 Pro Max was launched in China in October 2025 at a starting price of CNY 3,999, or around Rs. 49,000, for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is available in Denim, Golden White, and Black colour options.
The Redmi K90 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 1,200×2,608 resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, and is powered by a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
