A revised timeline offers Fitbit users more breathing room as Google continues its transition toward a unified account system.
Google has extended the deadline for Fitbit users to migrate their accounts to a Google account, pushing the cutoff date to May 19, 2026. The update brings relief to users who were unable to meet the earlier deadline of February 2. The revised timeline was recently confirmed on Google’s Fitbit account migration help page.
Along with the migration extension, Google has also clarified how long users will be able to manage their existing data. According to the updated help page, “You can still download or delete your data any time before we begin processing data deletions on July 15, 2026.” This gives users a clear window to secure or remove their Fitbit data before any deletions begin.
This is not the first time Google has postponed the migration deadline. The original cutoff was set for 2025 and was later extended to February 2 before being moved again to May 19, 2026.
Google has reiterated that Fitbit users who do not migrate their accounts by the new deadline will lose access to their Fitbit accounts and all associated historical data. To avoid data loss, users must either download their information or complete the transition by linking their Fitbit account to a Google account.
The extended timeline reflects Google’s ongoing effort to ensure a smoother transition for users while consolidating Fitbit services under its broader account ecosystem.
