iQOO announces launch date for its first R-series in India with 15R smartphone

A new addition is set to join iQOO’s smartphone lineup in India as the brand prepares to expand its portfolio with a more accessible model. iQOO has officially confirmed the launch of the iQOO 15R, marking the company’s first entry into its new R-series.

Nipun Marya, CEO of iQOO India, announced the development through a post on X, where he also revealed the phone’s design and launch date. The iQOO 15R is expected to arrive as a more affordable option compared to the iQOO 15, which was introduced last year. At present, iQOO has not officially disclosed the full specifications or feature list.

iQOO 15R India launch details

According to Marya’s post, the iQOO 15R will launch in India on February 24, 2026. The announcement was accompanied by the tagline, “Power is about to find its perfect fit.”

Industry reports suggest the iQOO 15R could be based on the iQOO Z11 Turbo model launched in China, as both devices appear to share a similar design. However, the company may introduce changes in specifications and features for the Indian market.

iQOO 15R expected specifications and features

Based on a Geekbench listing, the iQOO 15R is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and paired with 8GB RAM. The listing also indicates that the device will run on Android 16, though it is likely to feature the Origin OS skin.

The smartphone is speculated to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. On the camera front, it may include a dual rear setup with a 200MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The device is also rumoured to pack a 7,600mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging.

Similar to the standard iQOO 15, the iQOO 15R is expected to focus on performance. However, it is likely to be positioned at a lower price point, offering buyers a more affordable alternative.

Final details around pricing, features, and target users will only be confirmed once the device officially launches later this month.
