A new subscription option could be coming to Instagram, with early signs suggesting it may offer more creator-focused controls and premium tools beyond what regular accounts get.
A developer on X, Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a), claimed Instagram is working on a paid subscription feature that would let creators build unlimited audience lists. The same report said the plan may also include tools such as viewing the list of followers who do not follow you back, and watching Instagram Stories anonymously without showing up in the viewers’ list.
Paluzzi also suggested that the rumoured “Super Like” feature and the ability to search within the list of Story viewers could either be part of this new subscription or “be included among the benefits of Meta Verified”. The Super Like feature, as described, could allow users to show extra support for a Story beyond a normal like by pressing and holding the like button.
Instagram has not officially shared details about this reported new subscription plan. The platform already offers Meta Verified as a paid subscription on both Facebook and Instagram, including in India. Meta Verified gives users a blue verified badge after identity confirmation using a government-issued ID. It also offers direct access to Meta support and proactive monitoring for impersonators who may target people with growing online audiences.
In India, Meta Verified pricing starts at Rs. 639 for a single app. Customers can also choose higher-priced plans that cost up to Rs. 21,000.
Instagram has also been rolling out more interactive updates. The company introduced the “Your Algorithm” feature last month to give users more control over what they see. It has also expanded Reels support for Indian languages, including Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. In addition, it added Indian language fonts for captions and in-video text.
