Building on strong momentum from recent launches, Tata Motors is preparing a broad SUV rollout aimed at deepening its presence across price segments. The automaker plans to introduce 4 new SUVs in India through 2026, spanning electric and internal combustion models, as it looks to extend gains made in 2025 and capture additional market share.
Here is a snapshot of the expected and confirmed arrivals.
- Tata Sierra EV
Following positive feedback for the ICE-powered Sierra, Tata is set to launch the all-electric Sierra in India by early 2026. The Sierra EV will be offered with 2 battery pack options and is expected to deliver a claimed driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. Sharing several elements with the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV will still feature distinct exterior and interior styling to differentiate it from its ICE counterpart.
- Tata Punch EV Facelift
The Punch EV facelift is expected between Q2 and Q3 of 2026. One of India’s highest-selling electric SUVs, the updated Punch EV will receive exterior design changes and interior revisions. Tata is also likely to introduce a larger battery option, which should result in an improved driving range.
- Tata Avinya
Tata’s flagship Avinya range is scheduled to debut in India before the end of the year, with the sportback version expected to arrive first. Built on Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA platform, the Avinya lineup will sit at the premium end of Tata’s EV portfolio. The architecture will support multiple body styles, including SUV and MPV derivatives.
- New Tata Nexon
The third-generation Tata Nexon is expected towards the end of 2026 or early 2027. Currently under development and known internally by the codename ‘Garud’, the next-gen Nexon is set for a ground-up refresh. Updates are expected across exterior design, interior layout, and powertrain options, including possible changes to engines, transmissions, and the electric version’s range. As a key growth driver, the overhaul is expected to be comprehensive.
