In this role, he will report to Michael Prestileo, Chief Strategy Officer and Chair of the Guardian India Board. As Country Head, Azhisur will be responsible for strengthening Guardian’s India operations and advancing the company’s strategic and technology priorities across the region. His appointment reflects Guardian’s focus on deepening its India presence while aligning global strategy with execution.
In addition to his new responsibilities, Azhisur will continue to serve as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Guardian India. In this capacity, he will work closely with Steve Rullo, Chief Digital & Technology Officer, to drive technology-led transformation and operational excellence across the organisation.
Azhisur brings more than 20 years of global technology and engineering leadership experience across the U.S. and India. Over his career, he has held senior roles in global diversified enterprises as well as Silicon Valley–based technology firms, leading large-scale digital and engineering initiatives.
Most recently, Azhisur has been at the forefront of AI-driven enterprise transformation at Guardian. His work includes building agentic AI capabilities, modernising core technology platforms, and scaling globally distributed product and engineering teams to support the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Guardian said the expanded role underscores its commitment to leveraging India as a strategic hub for innovation, technology development, and operational excellence. By combining leadership continuity with expanded responsibilities, the company aims to accelerate execution while supporting its broader digital and growth ambitions.
