Red Magic has officially announced the launch of its next gaming smartphone, the Red Magic 11 Air, in China later this month. The confirmation came through a Weibo post, along with early teasers that highlight a change in direction for the lineup. The brand is positioning the device as a performance-driven gaming phone with a full-screen display, advanced cooling system, and dedicated gaming controls, while still keeping the body slimmer than most other Red Magic phones.
According to the company, the Red Magic 11 Air will debut in China on January 20 at 3 pm local time, which is 12:30 pm IST. The teasers suggest that the “Air” series is no longer focused only on slim design. Instead, the new model is being promoted as a full-performance gaming flagship. The phone will feature a true full-screen display with no visible cut-out, supported by a 16-megapixel under-display front camera. Nubia has also confirmed a transparent rear design across all variants, along with built-in shoulder triggers for gaming.
Red Magic has confirmed that the phone will include an internal high-speed fan and a thick 4D Ice Step vapour chamber to manage heat during long gaming sessions. It will also feature the Red Magic Cube gaming engine, a dedicated Red Core R4 esports chip, and a built-in PC emulator. Despite this hardware, the phone will measure just 7.85 mm in thickness. Nubia also claims it will carry the largest battery ever used in a Red Magic Air series phone.
The Red Magic 11 Air has already appeared on the TENAA certification site with model number NX799J. The listing points to a 6.85-inch OLED display with a 1,216 × 2,688 pixel resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It shows a rated battery capacity of 6,780 mAh, expected to be marketed as around 7,000 mAh. Memory options may go up to 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, with a base variant starting at 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Camera details include a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The same model has also appeared on Geekbench, scoring 3,075 in single-core and 9,934 in multi-core tests, running Android 16 with 16 GB RAM. CPU details point to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which would be an upgrade over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in the Red Magic 10 Air.
