In this role, he will oversee the organisation’s people strategy, HR operations, and administrative functions, with a focus on enhancing workforce capability, governance, and overall organisational effectiveness across the fund house.
Kakkat brings more than 20 years of experience in human resources, with a strong background across financial services, consumer goods, and electronics sectors. His expertise spans sales HR, corporate HR strategy, talent staffing, HR analytics, and managing large-scale workforces.
Before joining Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, he served as Head – Corporate HR & Talent Staffing at Aditya Birla Capital. In this position, he led enterprise-wide HR strategy, talent staffing initiatives, and key corporate HR programmes across the organisation.
Earlier, Kakkat spent over 10 years at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance. During this tenure, he held several leadership roles, including Head – Sales HR, Head – Corporate HR – Sales, and Zonal Manager – Human Resources. In these roles, he played a key role in building and scaling HR strategies for large sales organisations across multiple regions in India.
Prior to his association with the Aditya Birla Group, Kakkat worked as Regional Manager – HR at Samsung India Electronics. There, he managed post-recruitment processes and HR operations across South India, supporting large and distributed teams.
Kakkat also held important HR leadership positions earlier in his career. These include serving as Sales HR Manager at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. and as Officer – Corporate HR at V-Guard Industries Ltd., where he was involved in managing nationwide HR operations.
On the academic front, Kakkat holds a PGDPM in Human Resource Management from the National Institute of Personnel Management.
With this appointment, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund continues to reinforce its focus on strong people leadership to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
