Poco is set to launch the Poco M8 5G in India today, adding a new smartphone to its lineup. The device will be available for purchase through an online shopping platform and the company’s official website. It is expected to go on sale shortly after the launch. While the official price is yet to be announced, several key details about the phone have already been revealed through its dedicated microsite.
The Poco M8 5G will be unveiled at 12 pm local time. The company has not confirmed whether the launch will take place through a live event or a soft launch. If a livestream is hosted, viewers will be able to watch it on the brand’s official video channel and social media pages.
The price of the Poco M8 5G in India remains undisclosed. However, leaks suggest it could be priced under Rs. 15,000. Earlier listings on international websites had shown a higher price, so this information should be treated with caution. The phone will be available in Carbon Black, Glacial Blue, and Frost Silver colour options.
The Poco M8 5G will run on Android 15 based HyperOS 2.0. The company has promised four years of operating system updates and six years of security updates. It will feature a 6.77 inch 3D curved display with up to 3200 nits peak brightness, 1080 x 2392 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, full DCI P3 colour coverage, and support for 68.7 billion colours. It will also include Wet Touch 2.0 for better response with wet hands.
The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and will come with 8GB of RAM. Poco claims the phone has scored over 825000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. It will carry an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance and SGS MIL STD 810 drop certification.
For photography, the Poco M8 5G will feature a dual rear camera setup with a 50 megapixel main sensor and a 20 megapixel front camera. It will support 4K video recording and 2x in sensor zoom. The phone will also have dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 300 percent volume boost.
The device will pack a 5520mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 18W reverse charging. Poco claims it can deliver up to 1.6 days of battery life on moderate use. It will be 7.35mm thick and weigh around 178 grams.
