Strong enforcement action over the past year has led to major recoveries in cybercrime cases in Palamu district.
The Palamu police recovered more than Rs 88 lakh in cash and froze Rs 80 lakh linked to cybercrime related offences during operations carried out between January 1 and December 20. Officials said these actions were part of a focused drive to curb illegal financial activities and protect victims of online fraud.
According to police records, Rs 6 lakh from the recovered amount was returned to affected victims. The recoveries highlight sustained efforts to trace and block illegal money flows connected to cybercrime.
Palamu SP Reeshma Ramesan said that the financial action was supported by firm ground level policing. During the same period, police arrested 6 cybercriminals involved in online fraud cases. Along with the arrests, teams also seized weapons, illicit drugs, and large quantities of illegal liquor during related operations.
Officials stated that these seizures point to a wider crackdown on organised and illegal activities in the district. The police continue to strengthen monitoring and enforcement to prevent cybercrime and other unlawful acts.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against offenders and ensuring that recovered money is returned to victims wherever possible.
