CoreEL Technologies raises $30 million to scale defence electronics operations

Fresh capital is flowing into India’s defence electronics sector as a Bengaluru based company moves to expand its footprint at home and abroad. CoreEL Technologies has raised $30 million in a Series B funding round to grow manufacturing capacity, strengthen research and development, and support large aerospace and defence programmes.

The funding round was led by ValueQuest Scale Fund, with participation from 360 ONE Asset. The investment highlights rising investor confidence in CoreEL’s role across key defence areas such as radar systems, electronic warfare, avionics, and military communications.

This round marks a significant milestone as India accelerates its push for indigenous defence and aerospace capabilities under the self reliance agenda. With defence modernisation and export ambitions gaining pace, CoreEL plans to scale operations to meet growing demand from domestic defence programmes and international customers. The company said the capital will also be used to deepen engineering capabilities and speed up the development of next generation electronic systems.

“CoreEL has established itself as a world class electronic systems and product development company,” said Vishwanath Padur, Managing Director of CoreEL Technologies. He added that the funding reflects “strong investor confidence in our long term strategy, engineering depth and execution capability.” His comments underline the company’s focus on combining advanced engineering with large scale execution, which is critical for defence and aerospace projects.

The investment follows CoreEL’s recent acquisition of the aerospace and defence systems division of Lekha Wireless Solutions Pvt. Ltd. This move has strengthened its military communications portfolio and expanded its capabilities in secure and mission critical communication systems. The acquisition positions the company to take on a larger role in complex and integrated defence platforms.

Industry observers view the Series B funding as a validation of CoreEL’s strategy to build vertically integrated capabilities across design, development, and manufacturing. By expanding its product range and consolidating specialised expertise through acquisitions, the company is aligning closely with the evolving needs of modern defence forces.

As India continues to focus on localisation in defence manufacturing while targeting global markets, CoreEL’s expanded scale and stronger portfolio are expected to support sustained growth and deeper participation in strategic defence programmes.
