The Board of Directors approved this decision after receiving recommendations from the Governance, Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Ratolikar is a well known professional in the cybersecurity sector and has played an important role in building the Bank’s information security framework. He has driven major improvements in digital protection systems, introduced advanced security models, and helped create a strong culture of cyber awareness across the organisation. Under his guidance, the Bank has maintained a strong defence structure with zero major vulnerabilities, reflecting the high level of maturity in its security operations.
His responsibilities have included more than technology related roles. He has also managed regulatory compliance, enterprise security governance, and the use of new technologies to protect digital assets. Ratolikar has led several key initiatives to improve threat detection, prevent cyber attacks, and build resilience across the Bank’s growing digital network.
In his position as Group Head and CISO, Ratolikar will continue to guide the Bank’s information security strategy. He will further expand its capabilities to respond to rising cyber risks, including malware, phishing attempts, advanced persistent threats and third party system weaknesses. His continued leadership is expected to support customer trust and ensure smooth operations.
HDFC Bank stated that this elevation is part of its wider plan to strengthen leadership, improve organisational efficiency and support secure digital expansion. The Bank added that cybersecurity remains a top priority and Ratolikar’s bigger mandate will help deepen focus on resilience, governance and innovation in security.
