Google has introduced Disco, an experimental AI powered browser designed to help users turn everyday browsing activity into dynamic and interactive web applications. The company said the new tool is available through Google Labs, with its first version now live for a limited set of users on macOS.
Disco brings a different approach to browsing by combining traditional web navigation with AI generated utilities. Built on Chromium, it works much like Google Chrome but adds advanced AI capabilities directly into the interface. The main highlight is GenTabs, an experimental feature powered by the Gemini 3 model.
GenTabs analyses what users are doing online by observing open tabs, recent searches and typed instructions. It then creates interactive web apps that support these ongoing tasks. For example, when a user is planning a trip, GenTabs may generate a custom travel planner that includes maps, calendars, bloom trends and suggested itineraries. When browsing recipes, it can create a personalised meal planning tool with ingredients, preparation steps and dietary filters pulled from multiple sources.
These generated web apps are fully interactive and adapt as users give new instructions or modify the content. Google said the generative elements remain linked to the original websites that supply the information. Users can also continue refining these apps by giving conversational prompts, changing layouts or choosing different visual styles.
To try Disco, Google has opened a waitlist through Labs. Early access is limited to a small group of macOS users who will test the browser and provide feedback on GenTabs and other features. The company said Disco is still in an early experimental stage, and some functions may evolve or behave differently as development continues.
