Google and the Telangana government have launched the Google for Startups Hub at T Hub in Hyderabad. The new space is designed to support the state’s growing startup community. It will offer selected founders who work in AI a free coworking space for one year and curated access to venture investors.
D Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s IT minister, said: “With this launch, we are further expanding our innovation ecosystem, one designed not only to help startups build great technology products but to strengthen their entire capacity to innovate.”
The Hub is part of the global Google for Startups network. It will guide founders from the early incubation stage to the point of full scale innovation. The Hub will provide mentoring, AI knowledge, physical workspace and global visibility for new companies. It also includes collaborative areas where founders, tech builders, investors and partners can meet. Google experts in AI and ML, product design and user experience will conduct focused sessions for both startups and student founders.
The initiative is expected to widen opportunities for women entrepreneurs and innovators from tier two and tier three cities. It aims to create a strong community that supports learning and experimentation.
Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary for IT, said: “By working closely with Google, we are ensuring that we are ahead of our innovation curve and founders from across Telangana can access world class resources without leaving the state.” Preeti Lobana, Google India’s country manager, said that the partnership will bring Google’s full range of tools across Cloud, Android, Play, Ads and its wider developer and startup programmes to the local ecosystem.
