Poco is gearing up to launch its X8 Pro smartphone in India, following its recent listing on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. While the company has not officially confirmed the release date, the listing suggests an imminent arrival. The device is rumoured to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 chipset, an IP68-rated build for dust and water resistance, a 6.67-inch AMOLED display and 100W fast charging. It is expected to debut as a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Redmi Turbo 5.
The BIS listing, dated December 8, carries the model number 2511FPC34I and registration number R-91005720, believed to correspond to the Poco X8 Pro. The certification does not reveal full specifications but signals that the India launch is approaching. The development was first highlighted by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414), confirming rising anticipation among fans for the new Poco model.
Expected features of the Poco X8 Pro include a 6.67-inch AMOLED LTPS screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, a metal frame and an 8,000mAh battery with 100W charging support. The rear camera setup is likely to consist of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, complemented by an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Turbo 5 is set to launch in China early next year, with the Poco X8 series expected to follow shortly in global markets.
The Poco X8 Pro is tipped to cost above Rs. 30,000 in India. For reference, the Poco X7 Pro 5G launched in January this year at Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The X7 Pro 5G featured a 6.73-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary and 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, a 20-megapixel front camera and a 6,550mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge support.
