In his new role, Patel will focus on building customer first digital journeys using cloud native platforms, data and artificial intelligence, with security built into every layer of technology. He will work closely with business teams to deliver faster and more efficient digital outcomes.
Patel brings over 22 years of experience in information technology across areas such as IT project planning, execution, business infrastructure setup and large scale operations. He is a qualified management professional and engineer, and also holds a PhD in cyber security with specialisation in advanced cyber security frameworks for critical infrastructure protection.
An ambassador of change and a seasoned strategist, Patel is known for using technology to create strong business solutions and revenue opportunities. His core strengths include strategic IT management across data centres, infrastructure, cloud, application development and support. He also has deep expertise in leadership, global program management, ITIL service delivery and cross functional coordination.
His experience further spans IT operations management, quality and service excellence initiatives, along with strong vendor and stakeholder relationship management.
Before joining Thomas Cook India Limited, Patel was associated with Cactus Communications. In a note of gratitude, he acknowledged the trust, mentorship and challenges at his previous organisation, which played a key role in shaping his leadership and technology journey.
With this appointment, Thomas Cook India is expected to further accelerate its digital transformation initiatives and strengthen its technology backbone to support business growth and customer experience.
