NTT Global Data Centers expands in Karnataka with new Devanahalli campus

Japanese technology company NTT Global Data Centers is expanding its presence in Karnataka with a new large scale campus in Devanahalli. This project strengthens Bengaluru’s position in the data centre sector.

The campus covers eighteen acres and is planned for a total IT load of 67.2 MW within a wider project capacity of 100 MW. The first facility will become operational on December 3. Alok Bajpai, managing director of NTT Data India, described this as “one of the company’s most important milestones in the state.”

NTT has already invested about one thousand seven hundred crore rupees in Bengaluru. The company has committed a further two thousand four hundred crore rupees for the new Devanahalli campus. Bajpai said, “We have almost four hundred megawatts of IT capacity which is live and another two hundred MW under construction and development.” He added that NTT is now “the number one global data centre provider” in India with about twenty two live sites across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.

At the same event, Sunil Gupta, co founder and chief executive of Yotta, spoke about Karnataka’s growing influence. He said the state is moving from an IT hub to “India’s large compute capital.”

He highlighted the support from the Karnataka IT Policy twenty twenty five to thirty and more than nine hundred and sixty seven crore rupees in incentives. He also noted that the region’s strong renewable energy base and skilled workforce could help it become India’s AI and green hyperscale data centre capital.
