Motorola Edge 70 Ultra surfaces in leaked render revealing new design

Fresh details about Motorola’s next flagship smartphone have appeared online, offering an early look at the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. The device will follow the Edge 50 Ultra from 2024, as the company did not release an Edge 60 Ultra this year.

The leaked render shows the phone in two colour options with a textured rear panel that looks different from the eco leather finish used on the previous generation. The new pattern resembles materials seen on recently launched performance centric phones. The camera module sits on the upper left side and features three lenses, likely covering main, ultrawide and periscope telephoto functions.

The frame is expected to be metal. Volume and power buttons appear on the right edge, while the left side features a separate key that could be linked to AI focused features.

Although the front design has not been revealed, the phone is expected to carry a flat OLED display with slim bezels and a centred front camera. The screen size is estimated to be around six point seven to six point eight inches with a high refresh rate.

Early reports suggest the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This places it slightly below devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Benchmark scores shared online indicate performance of two thousand six hundred thirty six in single core tests and seven thousand four hundred seventy five in multi core tests. The device shown in tests carries sixteen gigabytes of RAM and runs Hello UX based Android 16.

Camera specifications remain unclear, though a periscope telephoto lens is expected along with upgraded primary and ultrawide sensors. Battery and charging details have not surfaced yet. The Edge 70 Ultra is positioned as a strong premium option with performance tuned just below the company’s upcoming top tier models.

The phone is also expected to release in China under the name Moto X70 Ultra. While the company has not shared any official launch date, the new flagship may debut in the first quarter of 2026.
