Navi Mumbai is preparing to introduce a major educational and recreational landmark with the upcoming Science Park at Wonders Park in Nerul. The first phase of this project is expected to be ready by January 2026. Developed by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the Rs 150 crore initiative aims to create an engaging space for students, families, and science enthusiasts.
The park covers more than 20000 square meters and will feature 278 interactive exhibitions. These installations will span subjects including life sciences, energy, environment, machines, consciousness, and outdoor art. One of the key architectural elements is a semi circular dome spread across 10125 square meters. It is built using iron and weather resistant metals imported from Germany and includes a glass lining designed to improve the comfort of visitors.
Construction has reached 90 percent completion, with ongoing work focused on interiors, exhibition setups, seating, electrical installations, and overall beautification. The planned facilities include an interactive science museum, a convention and expo centre, a proposed vintage car museum, and a student experimentation hub. These additions aim to make science accessible, enjoyable, and hands on for visitors of all ages.
The Science Park is expected to fill a major gap in the city’s recreational and educational infrastructure. Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar said the project aims to match international standards, boost science tourism, encourage experimental learning, and give the Nerul and Seawoods region a distinctive identity.
With immersive exhibits supported by global engineering expertise, the Science Park is set to become a prominent attraction in Navi Mumbai. It is expected to host educational workshops, school visits, and community driven science activities, offering a dynamic space that encourages curiosity and learning for all.
