Venture capital firm Accel and Google have joined hands to launch a new co investment initiative for early stage artificial intelligence startups in India. The programme will be run through Accel’s Atoms accelerator and Google’s AI Futures Fund.
Each selected startup will receive up to two million dollars in co investment from both companies. The initiative targets startups building AI solutions in India, as well as those founded by Indian origin entrepreneurs who aim to serve global markets.
Startups chosen for the twenty twenty six cohort will receive Google Cloud credits, access to Gemini and DeepMind models, technical mentorship and product support from Google. They will also gain strategic backing from Accel.
Accel has operated the Atoms programme for four years. It was initially open to companies across different industries. So far, Atoms has supported forty startups that have collectively raised more than three hundred million dollars in follow on funding.
The partnership underlines the growing interest of global technology firms in supporting AI innovation in India. The country’s AI market is expected to expand rapidly in the coming years and is seen as an important part of global technology growth.
The programme will begin in twenty twenty six and is now open to early stage startups applying through Accel’s Atoms platform.
