Agnikul Cosmos has raised about rupees one hundred and fifty crore which is seventeen million dollars in new funding. This values the spacetech startup at around five hundred million dollars and places it among the most valuable private spacetech companies in India.
The funding round saw participation from HDFC Bank, Artha Select Fund, Prathithi Ventures, Advenza Global and several family offices.
Agnikul plans to use the new capital to increase production, raise the number of launches and advance its work on reusable launch vehicles.
A part of the investment will support the development of a new integrated space campus that is coming up on three hundred and fifty acres allocated by the Tamil Nadu government. This campus will bring design, manufacturing, testing and operations into one facility.
Co founder and chief executive Srinath Ravichandran said the new funding supports the Agnikul’s next phase of engineering and expansion. “This fund raise allows us to work on such missions while also focusing on scaling launch frequency and building for the world, from India.”
Agnikul has already demonstrated its patented single piece three dimensional printed engine technology with support from ISRO and IN SPACe. The company is now increasing its efforts in reusability which could significantly reduce launch costs for small satellites.
Co founder and chief operating officer Moin SPM said demand is now higher than capacity. “With growing demand and more than a dozen customers eager to launch with us, scaling our operational depth was the natural next step.”
Investors say their support reflects the strong momentum of India’s private space technology sector. Arun Kumar from Celesta Capital said the company represents India’s deep tech progress. “They are at the right place at the right time, poised to meet the enormous unmet demand for low earth orbit satellites both globally and domestically.”
Anirudh Damani from Artha Select Fund said, “Agnikul’s trajectory is a clear signal that India’s private space industry has arrived and the world is now watching closely.”
With satellite demand rising across regions including India, the Middle East and Australia, Agnikul aims to position itself as a competitive global provider of reusable small satellite launch services. The company has also expanded into larger scale three dimensional metal printing to support more subsystems beyond engines which moves it closer to full in house manufacturing.
